Contact: rentalert.app/account.
Account: if you sign in with Google, your name, email, picture and Google ID, to identify you.
Alerts: your search criteria and your channel (WhatsApp number or email address; Telegram chat ID if you subscribed through Telegram), to send you matching listings.
WhatsApp: alerts are sent through the WhatsApp Cloud API of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. Meta receives your phone number and the messages we send you.
Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your email, customer ID and subscription status; never your card details.
AI: the text you use to describe your search and the text of listings are sent to OpenAI to turn them into filters and summaries. We don't send your name or email.
Analytics: Google Analytics, only with your consent (cookie banner).
Tenant profile: before paying you answer a few questions (occupation, income band, who's moving, length of stay, pets, smoking, guarantor, deposit and documents ready). We use them to match you to listings and, without anything that identifies you, to show agencies how much demand fits their flats (only in groups of 5 or more).
Sharing with agencies (optional): only if you tick the box, agencies on RentAlert with a matching flat see your answers, first name and phone number and can contact you. We record when you agreed and the exact wording. You can withdraw anytime in your account, by writing to us or, if you use Telegram, with /privacy in the bot; your name and phone are deleted at that moment. We don't sell your data to anyone outside RentAlert.
Agency messages: an agency on RentAlert with a listing that fits your search can ask us to send it to you with a short note. Our bot sends the message; the agency doesn't see who you are. Only if you tap “Accept” do we pass on your name, phone or WhatsApp number, budget and move-in date. Tap “No agency msgs” to stop these messages; your alerts stay the same. You get at most 2 a day.
Landlord listings: the form data, to review and publish the listing. The phone number is shown only to subscribers; the exact address is never published.
For partner agencies we publish short videos of their listings (photos and facts of the home, never the exact address or phone numbers) on our own YouTube, Instagram and Facebook channels.
RentAlert uses YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API) with our own channel only: to upload those videos and to read how many times each one has been viewed. We don't access or ask for access to your YouTube account, and we don't collect data about the people who watch the videos.
By watching our videos on YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies.
YouTube API data: we store only each video's ID and view count, which we show to the agency whose listing it is. We refresh them daily and delete them 90 days after publication or when the agency asks. RentAlert's access can be revoked at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
Performance of the contract (account, alerts, payments, tenant profile), consent (analytics and sharing with agencies) and legitimate interest (anonymous demand statistics, fraud prevention). We keep data while you have an account or subscription, and afterwards only what the law requires (invoicing).
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, portability or object to processing by writing to us. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
